PermaLink Teke jumping at HITS Ocala 02/14/2007 08:14 AM
The Teke stallion Metman 15.2 hh (158 cm)

by Melekush (Muhtar) out of Marsia (Omar) is showing at HITS Ocala this year, he is according to his owner a consistant winner in show jumping up to 130 cm in Russia!

We are looking forward to seeing him perform here in Florida at HITS. For more info about HITS go to http://www.hitsshows.com

Hopefully his owner will be able to publish his schedule and results here so that we can follow his progress, we will be at HITS to and catch him with the camera.

I made a quick conversion of the classes (levels in the US) and max heights in feet to cm so that we can all interpret the results:

Level 1. 3'0 - 90 cm
Level 2. 3'3 - 100 cm
Level 3. 3'6 - 110 cm
Level 4. 3'9 - 119 cm
Level 5. 4'0 - 121 cm

Level 6. 4'3 - 131 cm
Level 7. 4'6 - 140 cm

Level 8. 4'9 - 150 cm
Level 9. 5'0 - 152 cm

Good luck Team Metman!

Pressures on.....

Show jumping is Wednesday, Thursday, Friday He may compete all three days next week. I believe he will be doing only level 4-5 next week. He is schooling level 6-7 with ease and I hope to get some good pics of schooling fences too.

Metman competed at level 3 today, he would have finished in 2nd on his time had it not been for "pilot error" when Robin took the short way derby style to a vertical and Metman plowed through it and gained 4 faults (Metman will be ready for that jump next time) . But our other riders from the barn came in 1st, 3rd and 4th out of 75 horses in Metmans class and Metman still came in the top 20 out of 75, not too bad for the day Level 3 again tomorrow and then on to the big ring for level 4 on Friday is the plan. He should be going around 11 am on Thursday and Friday. He looks good and is enjoying the work and Florida sunshine

Jessica, Sorry for the dalay in communication. I had to use cell connection on the laptop with very bad service. Metman did not compete Friday, Robin had to walk a cross country course in the morning and did not make it back in time for his class. He did compete level 3 again Thursday and had a clear round but slower time, I have not looked up to see if he placed. I had to leave early to drive home for the big snow/ice event comming tonight and Sunday. So...Metman will continue on Wednesday with Level 4. And I will continue to keep you posted on his progress. For future reference my cell 734-216-6836. Give me a call if anyone plans to go watch him.
