PermaLink Removed thread due to threats 10/26/2006 02:37 PM
I have, for my own peace of mind, removed a thread containing discussing amongst other things horse theft. I have encountered a very, very ugly side of the Teke business today and I will really have to work on my passion level for the next couple of days.

Anyone, interested in the subject and anyone being offered Tekes for sale in Europe, or that wants to read the private communication that lead to me removing a thread can email me privately for more info. Those of you who came to my blog for help in this matter, I have not given up on you!

Jessica, do not worry, there is an ugly side to any business, not only Teke. Keep up your passion, but do not let it blind you. That is the best advise to everyone I think.

Yes, it is true there is an ugly side to all aspects of the horse world but I think we can agree that the really good people and horses in it can help make up for the ugly side. At least in the long run; in the short run it promotes bitter feelings about our fellow horse people. We can only hope that in the end the great spirit of our horses will prevail over the bad. The Teke's have helped rekindle my spirit for the horse, I am only one person, but great things can start with only a small group. Everyone keep your chins up the best is yet to come.

I agree total with you Portia, but I had thought that we live in counturys where you can give your free opinion, freedom of speech and expression ,but I think that I'm wrong on this, and about the threats, and now their procecution, do we have to become afraid??? I do hope that "we" don't loose our dignity. And stand for it, no mather wath. Because a lot of these people, get their way only trough, intimidate other people. But it’s hard to fight against this, but you have to start somewhere. It’s time that these people will be stopt. If every body shot there eyes, and no body will stand up...........................then we have lost our.........................

My teacher in law and human rights has said once: the freedom of one person can not be total, as it is limited by freedom of other people. Whenever I think of freedom of speech and lovely sounding other things like that, I remember that phrase...

Thank you all for your support in this matter, here as well as privately.
I told you that I would not let you down, our work and efforts for transparency in this breed has only begun, and I have realised how much we need it.
The small group of people that is using illegal methods, physical as well as verbal threats are indeed intimidating and in order to make progress we have to not lower ourselves to their level and use their methods, but the methods offered by the civilized society.
Today I sent the cease and desist mails I have received for what was published on my blog to The Chilling Effects Clearinghouse http://www.chillingeffects.org This is an organisation founded by amongst others The Electronic Frontier Foundation, Harvard, Stanford, Berkeley and the George Washington School of Law.
The case is now being processed there. I will keep you posted on the development
