Definitely, I'll try to be there! It will be nice to see your tekes again, and I hope many others will participate. I will be looking forward to meeting you, Sasha and Leonid again. I remember we had a great time in the Swedish show in 2003 and I learnt a lot from all of you!

Yeepiee, the adventures of a Spanish girl visiting Turkmen horses in Florida with Russian experts and Swedish host!

Oo...How exciting! I hope I can go...will have to get hubby to put in for time off! :) I would LOVE to see a Teke show and take lots and lots and lots of photographs! Especially in my home state. ;)

This is a fantastic initiative, I will be there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry to be a bit slow in my brain, but it is really in 2007, not 2006? Just got very excited and then realised it is over a year away
Always worth waiting for something good though.

Thank you all for the postitive response, Hege, we need a long time for planning what we hope will be a great manifestation of the breed here in Florida that is why we announce it now but will need more than a year to plan.
There will be a possibility for some of you to show a Teke in one of the under-saddle classes. If you are interested in showing a pure bred Teke let me know, we will let you ride some of our Tekes, they will be "green" though as they will be three and four years old in 2007. If you apply for riding and live in Florida me and our trainer, Portia Winters, will ask you to come here for a test ride in the summer 2007, if you live outside Florida you can send us a video of you riding so that we can make sure that we match you to the right horse and class.
We will also need volounteers to the very important Show Crew if you are interested in working in the crew let us know.

Since I don't know much about breed shows in general...esp. Teke shows... what classes should I expect to see? I would LOVE to ride for you! But I would want to make sure I would be able to do your horse justice in the classes it is entered! Id like to know what to look for as far as riding, what is judged, how things are run, etc. so for this comming show...what should we expect to see as far as classes for the tekes?

There is a lot of time between now and oct. 2007... so lots of time to work things out... and maybe have a horse of my own to show as well by then...just need my real estate to start paying off for me...I just started so no income yet :-

But reguardless...I am WAY hyped about an actually teke show somewhere I can manage to get to!

Hi Jessica,
thanks for confirming it is 2007! It is going to be a big Teke year I am sure, not only for myself!
I absolutely appreciate that planning such an event will take lots of time, though I am confident already it will be a success.
When you have the time, would you please explain more of the possible roles as a show crew member? I am just thinking that I don't want to miss out on anything that's going on during the show, but it would be nice to take an active part as well. I would love to ride a KaraKum Teke, only if it would be beneficial to the horse and yourselves though..
It is great to see the enthusiasm and initiative that follows with this breed, thank you for giving people (like myself especially, that are getting to know the breed) the opportunities that come with these shows.

Jessica and Todd,
Thank you for coming and seeing us at the farm. We will be ready for the show for 2007. I should have Dolomit green broke by them but surely will ride Paikhas and Moira. If anyone has any questions about translation or interpreting Russian/English I can help.
Dasha

Thank you for having us Dasha!
The more translators the better. This will bring the translator/interpretor number up to 3! Great!

Cheers,
Todd
