PermaLink Shedding02/06/2006 07:49 AM
The horses started shedding their winter coat last week. They have very little winter coat but it is always nice to see the real Teke come out under the coat. Last week I also, at last, found my farrier. He did a great job with the feet as well as with handeling the horses. It has been quite an ordeal to go through all those farriers that claim that they know what they are doing when they obviously have no clue.
Anyways horses feet are in supertrim now and they are now superfast in their morning galopps. The rye grass is green and lush, and for now, everyone is happy here at KaraKum Stud.

Hi Leonid! That's COLD, even though I assume it is celcius degrees. We have been down to -17 celcius this winter and that is cold enough for me

Do you bring your horses inside when it is so cold or are they able to handle the cold outside?

Cheers, Lisa

Frost is quite dry here and horses feel good themself. They have been 5-7 hours every frost day. To night they are at the stable.

Leonid. That must be a cold record for Schamborant Stud in Moscow. -35 is really dangerous. I do hope that you are all well and surviving in the arctic cold.

Please, Leonid, might you put some photos of your foals on your website? Thank you very much.
