Yarraman Gezel the first Akhal-Teke cross to do 120 km in Sweden 09/18/2005 05:53 PM
I would like to congratulate Yarraman
Gezel and Karin to be the first Teke cross to do 120 km endurance in Sweden
Yarraman Gezel b 1994 is from Almaz
and a Standard bred mare, here is a link to his picture and pedigree http://www.karakumstud.com/web/karakum.nsf/permalinks/TKEH-6G5H9D.
The cross was made to produce a nice
endurance horse and so far I would say it has proven a successful. Yarraman
has an excellent temperament and very good workability. I am not at all
well oriented in endurance riding but I have understood that 120 km is
a big step from 80 km and a proof of good training and a sound horse.
Here is a link to the Swedish endurance
list that publish every national endurance result in Sweden as well as
a ranking of endurance horses in Sweden, Yarraman is now ranked 36 on the
list. http://www.distanslistan.com. Unfortunately his breed is not published,
I see a lot of Arabiancrosses in the list and an Akhal-Teke cross would
be nice to see as well. I hope someone involved with Swedish endurance
or the Swedish Akhal-Teke association can see to it that Yarrman's breed
is added.
