USDF National Symposium - Dressage anatomy vs Teke Anatomy 09/09/2005 10:24 AM
Todd and I plan to attend the US Dressage
Federations National Symposium in December. The reason is that Klaus Balkenhol
will hold lectures there.
One of the lectures is called "Functional
Anatomy of the Dressage Horse" and I really look forward to hear such
a great horseman's experiences on this matter. In Europe the dicussions
about how the optimal dressage and jumping horses are to be built and bred
are always ongoing. Eventhough the Akhal-Teke breed is different from the
European Sport Horses it is very stimulating and educational to listen
to people that have a long experience within a discipline. I do recommend
everyone to listen at least once in a lifetime to someone like Klaus Balkenhol.
The Symposium will be held December
2-4 in Burbank, California for more info go to http://www.usdf.org/Menu/index.asp.
If someone else from the AT community
here in the USA plan to go, let me know. Wouldn't it be interesting to
apply the Functional Anatomy of the Dressage Horse on the anatomy of the
AT together. Let me know if you plan to go so that we might come together
for a really interesting discussion!
Another subject that is of interest
for me and I'm sure for many others is the training of the young horse
(two-year-olds) to the Grand Prix horse. "The rider builds the Horse"
sound really, really interesting!
If you have a young Teke you think have
the predisposition for dressage I really recommend you to go!
